There are about 12.9 Mn teachers in the SAARC countries and a significant proportion of them are untrained teachers. This emphasizes on transforming and teacher professionalization, understood as “the knowledge, skills, and practices that teachers must have in order to be effective educators. Therefore, the SACTD will have a unique opportunity of transforming the entire community of teachers in SAARC countries to be a leading profession through provision of training and other advisory services.
